Temporary dense seismic network during the 2016 Central Italy seismic emergency for microzonation studies

This database contains seismic data recorded by the network 3A (http://doi.org/10.13127/SD/ku7Xm12Yy9) during the 2016 Central Italy seismic sequence, stored in binary miniSEED format files, and the associated metadata or DATALESS files. Each DATALESS text-file contains a complete and comprehensive history of metadata for each station (i.e. geographic coordinates and instrument response information often needed to process the time series data). The seismic data are organized in a folders tree by year (2016), network code (3A), station codes (e.g. MZ01), and channels (EHE.D, EHN.D, EHZ.D, HNE.D, HNN.D and HNZ.D if all available). The miniSEED files are 1-day long and their names uniquely identify the time series with the network code, the station code, the channel code and the corresponding Julian date. The folders tree has the same structure used in the European Integrated Data Archive (EIDA) where the data are also stored and can be requested for any purpose. Moreover this database includes a txt table listing the earthquakes recorded by the network 3A during its working period. The events are selected on the base of the magnitude threshold of 3.0 and the distance of 30km from the point Latitude 42.63, Longitude 13.29 (Amatrice village). The epicentral localization are given by the INGV web service, accessible from http://terremoti.ingv.it/en/. The table is formatted with the fields: date (YYYY-MM-DD), origin time (hh:mm:ss), latitude, longitude, depth, magnitude (Ml or Mw) and the event location name (distance from the nearest village).
