DustSCAN: A Five Year (2018-2022) Hourly Dataset of Dust Plumes From SEVIRI

Posted on 2024-06-06 - 13:32
DustSCAN is a five-year, hourly dust plume dataset derived from the Spinning Enhanced Visible and InfraRed Imager (SEVIRI) images on geostationary-orbit Meteosat satellites. The dataset includes 9951 discrete plumes over 2018-2022 across the Saharan Desert, Arabian Desert, and Western and Central Asia. It provides a framework for detailed analysis of dust sources, trajectories, and dust emission co-factors.
