Principal components analysis (PCA) plot showing size-free craniofacial shape variation across families of Arctic charr (Salvelinus alpinus) from lake Vatnshlíðarvatn at hatching and first feeding. A total of 71 landmarks were used (see Fig. 1) and resulting deformation grids, with a 2x magnification, are presented at the extremes of both axes to facilitate the interpretation of shape change. Family identity (N offspring 5–9) is represented by different symbols.
