Cytokine-activated NK cells mediate their help for DC maturation via IFN-γ. NK cells were activated for 16 h in the presence of IL-18 (100 ng/ml) and IL-2 (1000 U/ml). Cell-free supernatants were harvested after overnight incubation and added to iDC supplemented with IL-4 and GM-CSF. Blocking antibodies were added where indicated (x-axis). The negative control (− ctrl) represents iDC which have been matured in the presence of IL-2 and IL-18 without NK cell-derived soluble factors. Data are shown as mean of 11 independent experiments.
