The data are genome-wide association study (GWAS) data relating to 10,000 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) from a squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) meta-analysis.
The related publication presents a cutaneous SCC meta-analysis, representing 6 international cohorts and totalling 19,149 SCC cases and 680,049 controls. 8 novel loci associated with cutaneous SCC are discovered, all (14) previously associated loci are confirmed, and fine mapping of causal variants is performed. The novel SNPs occur within skin specific regulatory elements and implicate loci involved in cancer development, immune regulation, and keratinocyte differentiation in SCC susceptibility.
