Number of oocysts per mosquito after membrane-feeding assay (MIDI cages). 1 600 µL of gametocyte-infected whole blood from starting material, fed directly. 2 9000 µL of gametocyte-infected whole blood from starting material added once over MACS column with 23G needle, eluted and reconstituted in 600 µL of uninfected blood before feed. 3 9000 µL of gametocyte-infected whole blood from starting material added once over MACS column with 21G needle, eluted and reconstituted in 600 µL of uninfected blood before feed.
