Figure S1. Murine model of allergic airway inflammation. BALB/c mice were sensitized intraperitoneally (ip) with a mixture of ovalbumin and aluminium/magnesium hydroxide (OVA/Alum) on day 1 and 10. After a 10-day recovery period, 2.5, 10 or 40 μg/mouse of CuO nanomaterials dispersed in PBS with or without OVA were administered repeatedly to mice by oropharyngeal aspiration on days 20–23.
