Dividing mitosomes in mitotic G. intestinalis. G. intestinalis culture expressing IscU-Halo was enriched for mitotic trophozoites by albendazole treatment (100 ng/mL) for 6 h at 37 °C. The cells were washed twice in warm medium and stained by Halo-TMR ligand and observed under a microscope. The images are representative of the sequence submitted as movie files (Additional files 2, 3, and 4). (EPS 7706 kb)
