<div>This data record contains a single .xml file holding annotation data, analysis results and primer sequences for comparitive transcriptome analysis of homografted and heterografted tomato seedlings. The data tables correspond to supplementary tables 1-4 in the related research publication.</div><div><br></div><div>The data file can be accessed via MS Excel, or openly available spreadsheet or notepad software.</div><div><br></div><div>The related study investigates potential molecular mechanisms involved in plant grafting using genetic approaches, in particular underlying mechanisms implicated in the regulation of development and stress responses at the whole-plant level. The investigation employs transcriptome analysis of grafted plants to reveal specific genes involved in the regulation of grafting-induced physiological responses. Transcriptome results are validated using quantitative real-time PCR (qPCR) analysis.</div><div><br></div><div>The study provides a foundation for the elucidation of the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in the scion of hetero- and homografted seedlings. Grafting is significant in vegetable production to enhance plant vigour through the avoidance of soil pathogens and the increased tolerance to low temperature, high salinity, and drought.</div><div><br></div><div>The data files contains the following elements:</div><div><br></div><b>Supplementary Table S1.</b> The DEGs and functional annotation detected between hetero- and homografted tomato seedlings. Including: gene names, fold changes, biotypes and other annotations.<div><b>Supplementary Table S2. </b>KEGG pathway enrichment analysis detected between hetero- and homografted tomato seedlings. Including: athway name, mapping and gene counts.<br></div><div><b>Supplementary Table S3. </b>Familial classification of transcription factors differentially expressed in the scion of heterografted tomato seedlings, Including: Gene name, References sepcies, family and reference gene introduction.<br></div><div><b>Supplementary table S4. </b>Quantitative real-time PCR (RT-qPCR) validated primer sequences for selected differentially expressed genes detected between hetero- and homografted tomato seedlings.<br></div><div><br></div><div>Raw FASTQ files were deposited in the NCBI Sequence Read Archive under the accession number SUB5937299<br></div>
